Pick one 2026 all-in-one guide, one set of model papers, one reasoning book and one teaching-aptitude book. More books will not help. Practice with old papers helps more.
The exam has four parts of 150 marks each: Mental Ability, Rajasthan awareness, Teaching Aptitude and Language. You need breadth more than depth. Details are in BSTC exam pattern.

How to choose a BSTC guide
- Check that it says 2026 or 2025 and covers the four parts of the current syllabus (Mental Ability, Rajasthan awareness, Teaching Aptitude and Language: English plus Hindi or Sanskrit).
- Open the contents page. A good guide shows chapter-wise topics that match our BSTC 2026 syllabus.
- Look at the sample answers. For teaching aptitude, the explanation should say why the other options are weaker.
- Prefer a book with explained model papers over one with only answer keys.
- Do not buy a bundle just because it has a discount.
Also avoid books older than the current syllabus. A retailer lists Arihant’s BSTC guide as a 2020 edition, so it predates the current pattern.

A reasoning book such as R.S. Aggarwal’s A Modern Approach to Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning (S. Chand, 2024-25 edition, ISBN 9789364685979, 892 pages) covers analogy, series, coding and similar topics. The all-in-one guides also have a Mental Ability part.
Which book is best for BSTC Teaching Aptitude?
Arihant’s Shikshan Abhiruchi Avum Abhivriti Parikshan Parvesh Pariksha by Naresh Pratap (152 pages, 19 chapters, ISBN 9789325792753) is written for B.Ed and other teaching entrance exams. Its topics match the BSTC syllabus words (teaching, methods, communication, professional ethics), but it is not a BSTC-specific book.
Is there a good book for Rajasthan GK for BSTC?
We have not named a stand-alone Rajasthan GK book, because we could not verify one. A Lucent Rajasthan listing we opened describes its coverage as the state of Chhattisgarh, which looks like a copy-paste error, so we did not recommend it. Use the Rajasthan chapters of the guides and read the topics in BSTC 2026 syllabus.

Is an old edition of a BSTC guide safe to use?
Each year’s notification can revise the syllabus, so prefer 2025 or 2026 editions. A retailer lists Arihant’s BSTC guide as a 2020 edition, which is older than the current syllabus.
Can I prepare for BSTC without buying any book?
Partly. The official syllabus is free, and old papers and answer keys are free on our old BSTC paper hub pages. A book helps with Rajasthan awareness and grammar, which are hard to cover from papers alone.
