Quick answer
The BSTC 2023 exam was held on 28 August 2023 at 2,521 centres. About 6 lakh candidates took it, and the result was declared on 29 September 2023.
BSTC 2023 exam: what we verified
The BSTC paper 2023 was written on Monday, 28 August 2023. The Office of the Coordinator, Rajasthan, conducted the exam at 2,521 centres across the state. On the exam day, the education minister tweeted that 6,19,063 candidates were scheduled to appear (Times of India). Hindustan Times later reported that around 6 lakh candidates took the test. We do not have a final official appeared count.
Admit cards were issued on 21 August 2023 on panjiyakpredeled.in, with the login ID and password. The paper had four sections of multiple-choice questions, each worth 3 marks, and no deduction for wrong answers (Times of India). The Times of India gives the timing as 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. That does not fit a three-hour paper, and the Hindustan Times says only that the test began at 2 PM, so we state only that the exam began at 2:00 PM.
The result was declared on Friday, 29 September 2023, 32 days after the exam, and candidates saw it on panjiyakpredeled.in.
Where to get the BSTC 2023 paper PDF and answer key
The official portal for 2023 was panjiyakpredeled.in (official Pre D.El.Ed portal used in 2022 and 2023), which is still online. We could not open its announcements page from our system, so we cannot confirm whether an official answer key remains listed. News sites (Jagran Josh) published articles titled as answer key and question paper links, but we have not verified those pages as official.
Before you use a 2023 PDF, check the date on the cover (28 August 2023), the number of questions (200) and the four-section layout. Do not trust a PDF that asks you to install an app.
BSTC 2023 exam pattern and marking
The Times of India describes four sections of multiple-choice questions, 3 marks each, with no negative marking for the 2023 exam.
| Section | Questions | Marks per question | Total marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mental Ability | 50 | 3 | 150 |
| General Awareness of Rajasthan | 50 | 3 | 150 |
| Teaching Aptitude | 50 | 3 | 150 |
| Language: English (compulsory) | 20 | 3 | 60 |
| Language: Hindi (General) or Sanskrit (Sanskrit course) | 30 | 3 | 90 |
| Total | 200 | 600 |
The 2023 cycle: centres, timing and result
The 2023 exam was the largest in terms of centres among the recent years for which we found a number. The table puts the numbers together:
| Step | Detail |
|---|---|
| Admit card | 21 August 2023 (7 days before the exam) |
| Exam | Monday, 28 August 2023, starting 2:00 PM |
| Centres | 2,521 |
| Scheduled to appear | 6,19,063 (about 246 per centre, our calculation) |
| Result | Friday, 29 September 2023 (32 days after the exam) |
About 246 candidates per centre is a lower density than in 2017, when 3,91,027 candidates appeared at 1,273 centres (about 307 per centre, our calculation). More centres means shorter travel for many candidates, but also means more variation in conditions between centres. Reach your centre early and check your seat on arrival.
We rely on the minister’s figure for the scheduled count because we found no official final count of candidates who appeared. If you find one in an official release, send it through the contact page and we will verify and add it.
How to solve the BSTC 2023 paper as a timed mock
A paper only helps if you solve it under exam conditions. Treat the 2023 paper like the real exam: 200 questions, 3 hours, one sitting, an OMR-style answer grid and no phone.
- Set up the roomPick a fixed slot, ideally in the afternoon, and use the same slot for every mock so that your timing data is comparable. Keep a blue or black ballpoint pen, a watch and a printed copy of the paper. Do not open the answer key.
- Choose your orderMany candidates start with the language and Teaching Aptitude sections because they are faster, then take Mental Ability and Rajasthan awareness. Try two orders in two mocks and keep the one that scores more.
- Mark as you goFill the answer grid after each section, not at the end, to avoid running out of time. Remember that there is no negative marking in the cycles we checked, so never leave a blank.
- Log your timeWrite down the minutes you took for each section. Your target is about 54 seconds per question on average.
- Score with the official keyUse the official answer key where one is available. Count each section separately and note the weakest one.
| Part | Questions | Suggested time |
|---|---|---|
| Mental Ability | 50 | 40 min |
| Rajasthan awareness | 50 | 25 min |
| Teaching Aptitude | 50 | 40 min |
| English | 20 | 20 min |
| Hindi or Sanskrit | 30 | 25 min |
| OMR check and review | — | 30 min |
The time plan is our suggestion for practice. It adds up to 180 minutes. Change it after your first mock if one section needs more time.
Section-wise approach for the 2023 paper
Use the 2023 paper to test each of the four sections separately before you attempt a full mock. The syllabus topics below are from the official 2025 syllabus, which lists the same sections that appear in older papers.
Mental Ability (50 Q, 150 marks)
Reasoning, analogy, discrimination, relationship, analysis and logical thinking. Practise the series and analogy types first because they are fastest.
Rajasthan awareness (50 Q, 150 marks)
Historical, political, art-culture-literature, economic, geographical, folk-life, social and tourism aspects of Rajasthan. Make one-page revision sheets for forts, fairs, painting schools, rivers and districts.
Teaching Aptitude (50 Q, 150 marks)
Teaching-learning, leadership quality, creativity, continuous and comprehensive evaluation, communication skills, professional attitude and social sensitivity. Read all four options. The best answer is usually the most child-centred, patient and practical.
English (20 Q, 60 marks)
Comprehension, spotting errors, narration, prepositions, articles, connectives, sentence correction, kinds of sentences, sentence completion, tenses, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitution and spelling errors.
Hindi or Sanskrit (30 Q, 90 marks)
Grammar and usage, word knowledge and comprehension in the language of your course (Hindi for General, Sanskrit for Sanskrit). These are among the quickest marks if you revise grammar rules.
Seven-day revision loop using the BSTC 2023 paper
If you have one week, this loop gets the most from a single paper. Repeat it with a new year each week.
| Day | Task | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Full timed mock on the 2023 paper | Score and section timings |
| Day 2 | Check answers; write the mistake log | List of wrong and guessed questions |
| Day 3 | Study the weakest section from the syllabus | Notes and one-page summary |
| Day 4 | Section-only practice from another year | Accuracy percentage |
| Day 5 | Re-solve the wrong questions from Day 2 | Fewer repeat errors |
| Day 6 | Language revision: grammar and vocabulary | Quick marks in 50 questions |
| Day 7 | Second timed mock on a different year | Compare with Day 1 |
Candidates who improve usually do so in the weakest section, not in the one they already like. Keep the mistake log short and honest.
