Photo, ID and centre rules from the official notification
| Rule | What it says |
|---|---|
| Photograph | Passport-size, not older than three months on the form date; you must look the same on exam day (beard or clean shaven as in the photo) |
| Spectacles | If you wear them to read, the photo must show you wearing them; black or coloured glasses in the photo are not accepted |
| Centre | After you submit the form, no request to change the exam centre is accepted; the university’s decision is final |
| Admit card | Available only on the official website; the office does not send it by post |
| Photo ID | Carry a valid government photo ID with the printed admit card (Indian Express) |

Exam-day checklist
- Printed admit card, one copy for you and one spare.
- Valid government photo ID.
- Your printed application form and attested copies of your certificates: the notification says to keep them for counselling.
- Anything else the instructions on your card ask for. We did not find an official list of allowed and banned items in the sources we read, so follow the card.
- Reach the centre early: the 2024 rules asked for entry between 11 AM and 12 noon for a 12:30 PM paper, and 2026 had two shifts.
- Follow the exam-day instructions printed on the admit card.
Admit card problems and fixes
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Password not working | Check the password you set at registration; if the portal offers no reset option, write to the helpline |
| Photo or signature missing | Contact the Coordinator’s office with a screenshot |
| Wrong name or exam centre | Write to the office before exam day; the university decides centre changes |
| PDF will not open | Try another browser or phone |
The Coordinator’s office helpline printed in the official 2026 notification is 6375584979 (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM) and the email is [email protected].
Form mistakes that cause admit card trouble
The official notification warns about errors made while applying. They can later block an admit card or even a result:
- Spell your name and your parents’ names as on the Class 10 certificate.
- Use a recent photo: not older than three months on the form date.
- If you filled more than one form, only the last submitted form is valid and the rest are cancelled.
- Do not rely on a cyber cafe or e-Mitra operator to check your entries. The notification says to verify them yourself.
- The notification also says candidates with wrong entries can be declared ineligible even after the result.
Because the notification says exam information is sent by email or SMS where possible, keep the mobile number and email you registered with active.
Why you should keep your admit card
The roll number on the card is used again: counselling login in 2026 asked for counselling ID, roll number, mother’s name and date of birth (Times of India). If you cannot find your number when checking results, look at the card first. See our BSTC result name wise guide and the BSTC result 2026 page.

What is BSTC pravesh patra?
“Pravesh patra” is the Hindi word for admit card. It is the same document: the BSTC admit card or hall ticket.
Can I get the BSTC admit card name wise?
We found no name-wise admit card search. The reports describe login with registration number and password.
What should I carry to the BSTC exam centre?
A printed copy of the admit card and a valid government photo ID (Indian Express). The official notification adds that your photo on the form should match how you look on exam day.
Will the admit card come by post?
No. The VMOU notification says admit cards are available only on the official website and candidates must print them. The office does not send them by post.

Can I change my exam centre?
The notification says that after you submit the form no request to change the exam centre is accepted, and the university’s decision on centre allotment is final.
