Rajasthan BSTC Cut Off 2026 (Category Wise Merit Marks)

Rajasthan Pre D.El.Ed (BSTC) · Cut off and merit

The BSTC cut off 2026 has two meanings: the qualifying marks (300 for General, 270 for reserved categories) and the marks at which a college seat closes. We could verify the first. For the second we found no official category-wise list, and the “expected” lists on other websites do not agree. This page shows what is confirmed, what is not, and how to judge your own chance.

Quick answer

The only confirmed BSTC cut off number for 2026 is the qualifying mark: 300 (General) and 270 (reserved). We found no official list of closing marks by category. Treat any table that claims them as an estimate.

Two meanings of “cut off” in BSTC

Term Meaning Verified for 2026?
Qualifying marks Minimum score to be eligible for counselling Yes: 300 and 270 (NDTV India, Careers360, Jagran Josh)
Closing marks (merit cut off) Last marks at which a seat was allotted in a category, college and round No official list found

Most search results mix the two. A candidate with 310 marks has qualified, but that score will not reach a government college in the first round.

BSTC qualifying marks 2026 (category wise)

Category Minimum percentage Minimum marks of 600
General 50% 300
OBC 45% 270
SC and ST 45% 270
PwD 45% 270
Widowed or divorced women 45% 270

Source: NDTV India (result coverage, 10 June 2026) and Careers360. Our arithmetic: at 3 marks per correct answer with no negative marking, 300 marks equals 100 correct answers and 270 marks equals 90 correct answers.

Qualifying marks for earlier years are not verified in our sources, so we do not list them. For each year’s facts, start from the BSTC complete guide.

Closing marks: what is actually published?

We looked for an official list of the last marks admitted in each category, college and round. This is what we found:

Document What it shows Status
Result notice and scorecard Shows the candidate’s own marks, rank and qualifying status (reports say) Not a cut-off list
Allotment letter (login) Shows the institute allotted to that candidate Not a cut-off list
Official closing-marks table by category and college Not found in the notices and reports we read Gap: “not published” as far as we found
Third-party tables Published by news and coaching websites Unverified estimates

We could not open the official portal pages directly because of its bot protection, so a closing-marks document may exist behind a login. If you find one, send it to us through our contact page and we will check it.

What websites claim, and why we do not copy it

The table shows the “expected” numbers of four public pages for general male candidates and a few other categories. We show them only to explain the problem. They are not data.

Page General male, govt college OBC male SC male
PW (pw.live), written 18 June 2025, for the 2025 exam 430 to 441 405 to 414 401 to 413
Careers360 article on 2026, updated 7 September 2026 428 to 450 (unreserved male, govt) 404 to 413 (OBC men) 400 to 412 (SC male)
Careers360 live blog, 10 June 2026 400 to 430 (General, no split) 390 to 420 (OBC) 340 to 370 (SC)
Adda247 result page, 10 June 2026 430 to 450 plus (General) 410 to 430 (OBC) 380 to 400 (SC)

Two things stand out. First, the four lists disagree: the SC range alone runs from 340 to 413. Second, the Careers360 2026 table for government colleges differs from PW’s 2025 table by exactly one mark at both ends in seven of the eight comparable rows (for example, ST women: 308 to 309 against 309 to 310). That looks like last year’s estimate reused, not a measured 2026 result. We do not repeat these numbers as cut-offs.

Category rules that shape the BSTC merit list

The official 2026 general directions set rules that change who competes for which seat. These come from the VMOU notification:

Rule What the notification says
Reservation As per Rajasthan state government rules; certificates must be issued by a competent authority and show Rajasthan domicile
Out-of-state candidates At most 5 per cent of capacity, on merit, in the General category only
Minority institutions 51 per cent of seats go to minority candidates and the rest to the general quota, all through the university
Sanskrit course 75 per cent of seats for senior-upadhyay passed candidates and 25 per cent for those who took Sanskrit as an elective in Class 12
ST (tribal sub-plan area) 45 per cent of the 12 per cent ST reservation is kept for local ST candidates of the tribal sub-plan area, on seats approved by NCTE

Because of these rules, one cut-off number for the whole state does not exist. A General male candidate, an OBC woman and a Sanskrit-course candidate compete for different seat pools.

Judge your chance by rank, not by a rumoured cut off

Your rank is the surest number you have. Here is a rule of thumb built only from verified totals:

Candidates who appeared (2026) 4,97,178
Seats reported for counselling About 25,970
Seats as a share of candidates (our arithmetic) About 5.2 per cent
Government institutions in the college list we reviewed 37 of 379, about 1,750 of 25,920 seats

In plain words: if every seat were filled strictly on merit, the last seat would fall near rank 26,000 of about 4.97 lakh. Government seats would end near rank 1,750, which is the top 0.4 per cent. These are rough numbers because reservation, gender splits and vacant seats change the picture. They are our arithmetic, not an official cut-off.

Year Appeared Seats reported Candidates per seat
2017 3,91,027 18,570 About 21
2025 5,49,161 25,977 About 21
2026 4,97,178 About 25,970 About 19

The college side of the numbers is on our BSTC college list Rajasthan. The counselling steps are on BSTC counselling 2026.

Why later rounds reach lower marks

The 2026 counselling ran in several rounds, each meant to fill seats left vacant by the one before:

Round Date
First allotment 20 June 2026
Upward movement result 7 July 2026
Second allotment 16 July 2026
Third allotment 4 August 2026
Special phase allotment 7 September 2026

The fact that VMOU held a second, third and special round tells you that seats stayed vacant after round one. A candidate who missed a government seat in round one could still get a place in a later round. Dates are covered in full in our BSTC allotment list 2026 page.

Choice filling tips that do not need a cut off

  • Fill as many institutes as the portal allows, in the order you truly prefer. A short list can leave you without a seat.
  • Include a mix of government, private and nearby institutes.
  • Check each institute’s code and seats on the official list before you lock choices.
  • Read the fee rules: the counselling fee in 2026 was ₹3,000 and the admission fee for allotted candidates was ₹13,555.
  • If you are not allotted a seat in a round, read the next round’s eligibility. The second round was open to candidates without a seat, to those allotted but not admitted, and to new applicants.

BSTC cut off FAQs

What is the BSTC cut off 2026?

There are two numbers. The qualifying marks were 300 out of 600 for General and 270 for reserved categories. The closing marks for a seat in a college depend on category, college and round, and we found no official category-wise closing-marks list for 2026.

What is the BSTC cut off for a government college?

We could not verify an official figure. Websites show “expected” ranges between about 400 and 450 for general male candidates, but these ranges do not agree. A better guide is your rank: only a few hundred government seats exist against about 5 lakh candidates.

What is the BSTC cut off 1st list?

VMOU released the first allotment on 20 June 2026. The allotment letter tells each candidate the allotted institute. We found no official list that gives the last marks allotted in that round.

What are the BSTC merit marks?

Merit marks are your exam score, and your merit rank comes from that score. Allotment uses merit rank, category and the colleges you chose. Scores in 2026 are shown with decimals, such as 552.6076 for the topper.

What was the BSTC cut off 2024?

We did not find an official 2024 cut-off list. Some websites publish ranges for 2024 and 2025 that we could not match to an official document, so we do not repeat them as facts.

Are qualifying marks the same as cut off?

No. Qualifying marks (300 or 270) only make you eligible for counselling. Closing marks are the marks at which seats ran out for a category in a college. They are usually much higher in government colleges.

How many candidates compete for each BSTC seat?

By our arithmetic, about 19 candidates who appeared in 2026 for every seat (4,97,178 appeared; about 25,970 seats). The ratio was about 21 in 2017 and 2025. Not every seat is filled in the first round.

Why did VMOU hold a second, third and special round?

Because seats were still vacant after the earlier round. The 2026 counselling pages describe the second and third lists as being for seats left vacant. Later rounds therefore reach lower marks than the first list.
