After 12th Science with Maths: engineering and more
For engineering the route is JEE Main, run by the NTA, and then REAP, which uses the JEE Main rank first and then the Class 12 percentile (and an approved diploma percentile) for colleges in Rajasthan. REAP’s 2026 registration ran from 13 May to 12 June 2026, according to Careers360, which cites the REAP booklet. We do not state cut-offs, because the ones we found were from third-party pages. Other options for a PCM student:
- B.Sc in a science subject through a university or government college.
- CUET UG for central universities, if the course lists it.
- A polytechnic diploma by lateral entry; read the DTE notice for who is eligible, since the rule is set course by course.
- BSTC for primary teaching, if you meet the marks and age rule.

After 12th Science with Biology: NEET UG and more
For medicine and related courses the entrance exam is NEET UG, run by the NTA. The eligibility is Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English, with a minimum aggregate in PCB that depends on category (Careers360 and Shiksha, summarising the bulletin). Counselling after the exam is done by the competent authority; we do not describe it, because the rules change each year. Other options include a B.Sc in life sciences, BSTC, CUET UG for central universities, and professional courses. Read the NTA bulletin, since it is the final word.
After 12th Commerce
Commerce students commonly do a B.Com or a similar degree at a university or a government college. CUET UG is relevant for central universities that use it. The CA Foundation (ICAI), the CS Foundation (ICSI) and the CMA Foundation (ICMAI) are open to any stream, and Class 12 completion is required before the exam; each institute allows registration at a different point, so read its eligibility page (ICAI FAQ and ICMAI eligibility page). 12th arts ke baad kya kare
Arts is the largest stream: in 2026 about 5.83 lakh Arts students appeared, against 2.85 lakh in Science and 30,580 in Commerce (see RBSE 12th result 2026), so many students will ask this question. The main routes are a BA at a university or government college, CUET UG for central universities, BSTC for primary teaching, and the CA, CS and CMA foundations. A government college in Kota, for example, shows its BA as open to any stream with merit-based admission and no entrance test. Integrated BA B.Ed courses use the CUET General Test in some universities, and for Rajasthan the SSO portal is used for the state integrated course, as the admission instructions say. The teaching route after 12th
After Class 12 the route to teaching in primary classes is the two-year Pre D.El.Ed (BSTC). The 2026 rules in our guide are 50 per cent in Class 12 (45 per cent for listed categories), age up to 28 on the exam date, and no stream restriction. Diploma and lateral entry
The Department of Technical Education of Rajasthan runs polytechnic admissions, and its site has a separate lateral admission page for second-year entry. Read the notice for the year, since lateral entry rules differ by course, and use the Department of Technical Education admissions page for first-year admission. The board’s main page also carries a revised order on the equivalence of polytechnic and ITI training with Class 10 and 12, which matters if you plan to change routes later.

Jobs that ask for a Class 12 qualification
Many state and central recruitment advertisements list Class 12 as the minimum, but the posts, ages and syllabi change with each advertisement. We do not list jobs, pay or vacancies. A recruitment notice has the exact qualification, and the teaching route is covered in BSTC ke baad kya kare.

If you did not pass Class 12
Look at the supplementary exam in RBSE supplementary exam 2026. In 2026, 6,730 students appeared in the Class 12 supplementary and 71.65 per cent of them passed. A TV9 Hindi report also lists the NIOS as another route, which we did not verify.

Is BSTC possible after 12th in any stream?

Can I do B.Ed after 12th?
